After debuting his versatile approach earlier this year, Jacques Senang has made his appearance in Amsterdam’s club scene. With intent to show them the spectrum of sound, he takes his audience on a trip.
Attending moving dancefloors and flourishing inside the vibrant atmosphere he calls home, Jacques keeps exploring the sonar landscape between Ambient, Dub, Techno, Electro and Breakbeat, drawing his inspiration from artists such as Bobby Boycott, De Schuurman & Twiena.
Jacques: “A damp room, filled with free, dancing, red silhouettes feels like the place I belong.”
His musical journey began at a very young age. Following their trip to Ambon, the Moluccan capital, Jacques’ father brought home what would become a very special gift, a Tifa. The very first instrument Jacques would play.
At a later age, after moving to the boundaryless Dutch capital of Amsterdam, Jacques began cultivating his passion and got introduced to the decks.
Jacques premiered his first season of the weekly radio show ‘Jacquerie’ at Slim Radio to regularly showcase his sound and progression and now, after adding performances at Sissi’s, Slim NDSM Rave and Toekomstmuziek under his belt, Jacques is instinctively claiming his spot in the Amsterdam club scene.
Jacques: “I would describe my sound as a textured landscape, using rhythmic tracks, collected along my journey amongst Amsterdam’s lively dancefloors.”
